Top notch taco shop with off-the-hook pastor tacos. This place has the outdoor taco cart feel but is conveniently located indoors. Real Palapa thatching inside gives you the authentic feel and their chairs are legit and definitely look like are right from Mexico. I tried several tacos but the Pastor was my favorite. They have the 'Trompo' rotisserie too. LEGIT!! Tacos were big portions to boot. They had some good looking juices and desserts. Maybe next time? Yes, there definitely will be a next time.

I can't comment on a lot of their food items quite yet, but the smoothies here are on point! I had the Cocoloco which had pineapple, strawberries and coconut and it was seriously bomb.com . It was a little pulpy, but I kind of liked the added texture. I felt that it was a true fruit smoothie, and not some powdered crap. I'm also a fan of their strawberries and cream, but you can never go wrong with condensed milk and fruit.

So i'm visiting from the bay area and decided to eat mexican. My friends here recommended La Palapa. Being from The Bay i wasn't expecting much in utah. Enter La Palapa, i'm greeted warmly, the place seems pretty basic nothing fancy which is fine. I ordered the carne asada burrito... whoa this place is really goood. The meat had a nice sear to it and was seasoned great and the beans were soft but not overly soft, rice was cooked perfect! The quality and tsate here is just as good as the places i've eating in san diego and the bay area.. impressive. Definitely marking down to come back to this place next time i'm in Utah.

Tacos. Yes, tacos. I'm talking double corn tortilla loaded with meat & sauce! So much meat that I make each $1.25 taco into TWO tacos by separating the corn tortillas. *magic* It makes it easier to eat and more mentally fulfilling--try it! Make sure to load your food with saucy and condiment goodness at the sidebar. They make everything to order and the meat is good, not too fatty or too seasoned. It isn't quite like the taco trucks in LA, but it's great because it's close to home for me & there is almost no wait every time I've been here. One of my favorite things about this place is that La Palapa is also a juice bar, so when you're feeling healthy but too lazy to make your own, get their juice! There are so many with all types of veggies incorporated into fruity goodness. It's freshly made to order and super convenient for any of you fitness peeps who just want juice! The only complaint I would have is that sometimes they are short on ice, so the juice is warm (I know you guys must think I'm crazy...complaining about too much juice:ice ratio). On top of that, the juice containers are HUGE. They also have a ton of authentic Mexican desserts, so get on it! I've only had tastes here & there from Xinmiao L, but I am not a huge fan of sweetness overload. Thus, I've stayed away from ordering an entire dessert because of their excessive use of condensed milk and cream...but heyyyyy, it's loaded with fruits...so the good cancels out right? Anywho, try it out! +1 Star: Indoor tacos with seating & a "we're in Mexico" vibe. Yes, their TVs have soccer on default +1 Star: Tacos, Burritos (ginormous), Juice, Dessert...everything Mexican. +1 Star: Prices are reasonable, esp considering the HUGE portions they give! +1 Star: Everything's made fresh, and it's all sorts of noms. -1 Star: Tables are really dirty, sometimes it takes a while for them to make stuff, and sometimes there is a language barrier depending on the staff.

Found another great taco place thanks to the Yelp reviewers. This place didn't disappoint, the flavors of the meats were excellent from the pork, spicy pork, chicken, and beef. Full of heaven and perfectly seasoned in every bite. Loved the shrimp quesadilla, although it didn't match the picture on the menu, it was still great. The fresh made drink was a great addition to compliment the meal. The mango cheesecake was okay, nothing spectacular. Definitely will return to try other menu items.

If you are looking for an indoor taco street cart mixed in with a Latino style juice bar, then La Palapa Juice is probably your best bet. The ambience got a bit tropical feel and occasionally there were live Spanish music there. I had a mango mixed juice, and it was awesome. Another time I had their tacos on the go, they were still very delicious as well, and carne was definitely among the top for me followed by the pastor. They have many sauces available if you dine-in there, and none of them were spicy for me. Tortas and Burritos looked good too, but I have yet to try them. In terms of value, you will definitely get more than what you pay for. Great cheap Mexican bites with decent services.

Authentic Mexican food goodness! $1.25 per taco? count me in! My favorite is spicy pork taco! It is basically pork and pineapple grilled together with some secret Mexican seasoning. I am so glad that the spicy level is on the Utah safe side! Now let's talk about creamy, fat, and sugary goodie of strawberry creme! A container of strawberries filled with condense milk and last, top it with whip cream. My artery is clogging right now just from thinking about it. But it is tastes amazing! There is a bar for you pick your sauces and toppings but the sauces are too spicy for me and all the toppings has onion in it. So I don't even bother to stop by. I stop by once in a while for quick and cheap bites before or after school because it is so cheap and delicious!

I'm always looking for delicious street tacos... And this has become as Brigham Young would say.. The Place! The street tacos are excellent and cheap! The rest of the menu looks delicious and I plan to be back soon. The shrimp burrito is eyeing me as we speak.. Carne Asada street tacos... Awesome! So I have been back to La Palapa multiple times now and I am more and more impressed each time. I grew up in California and lived for many years in Arizona, so I know my mexican food. The Al Pastor burrito calls to me often.. I think I will be going there for lunch today. Maybe I will see you there!! You can't beat this place! Do yourself a flavor and try this place out.

The tortas are tits. I was born and raised in Cali and i will say with confidence that these are the best tortas i have ever had. I wont get tortas anywhere else. La Desayuna and La Lambada are amazing. Ive tried the tacos and the burritos. They're ok. Ive had better. But the tortas......amazing. I think La Desayuna, which is my favorite, has beans, chorizo, sliced hot dogs, a fried egg and shredded pork shoulder with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. I think La Lambada is similar just without the chorizo. My only gripe is that it can take a while to get your food. Ive waited up to 15 min before. Doesnt seem like a long time but considering i was the only one in line, it was excessive. And during the summer it is a freaking sauna in there. I dont think they have AC.

Okay, so you would think La Palapa would have good drinks according to the name, right? Well, this place has fresh juice, but it is all warm and isn't strained so the seeds are left at the bottom; this is a juice fail. However, although the juice fails in my opinion, the food I saw looked very delish--big portions for a good price. I really wanted to try it but it was late and I didn't want the extra pounds; I tried extremely hard to resist. I will go back to test the food and hopes that it impresses me. According to the other reviews, it sounds legit and I am excited to try. Stay tuned for the upcoming review on the food!

If you want real AUTHENTIC Mexican GRILL food from the burritos to the tortas to the plates, la palapa solves all of that. The meat is marinated to bomb.com , I am a fan of they're carne asada burritos but they also have good tortas like the Desayuna and Cubana. They also have fresh guacamole on the spot and all sorts of sweets from yogurts to shakes and drinks, usually when I go the meat hasn't been cooked yet so its cooked fresh also the rice is very good. They also have fresh cheese and different kinds of cheese you can ask for. They also serve alchy. The service is okay but very friendly on non busy days because they don't have much workers but they work fast. To compare to other Mexican joints that you could get in Utah I'd say they are my favorite so far next to the taco trucks, La palapa for the price and food u get in my opinion HANDLES all the american mexican grills (chipotle/cafe rio/rancheritos(disgusting meat) theyre burrito ranges from 4-5 and chipotle and cafe is about 8-9 and they are also stingy on the sauces. Giving it 5 stars for Price Quality Service Quantity Authenticity

I came down from Socal to visit some friends and my friend talked about the best mexican food even better in socal so he took us to this grill. It was the best burrito I've ever had next to the taco trucks in socal. The meat is tender and juicy and marininated to perfection, they serve excellent rice and fresh cut guacmoles and cheeses. I recommend the carne asada burrito and I also took a bite from the Shrimp burrito they had and it had there own speacial sauce the shirmp was fried and it came with rice and cheese also melted. The service was decent could have been better not very many workers but for the money and portions its the best you can get for your money cheap and full :)!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
